eggless French toast

Start your morning with French toast without eggs that are ready in 30 minutes or less. They taste exactly like your French toast which has a crispy crust soft and fluffy but made without eggs. Many people dislike eggs because they are allergic to eggs.

Sweet French toast without eggs is not common in the United States, of course, the use of vegan desserts is on the rise. If you do not like eggs or are allergic to eggs, this recipe is perfect for you. This toast recipe is very simple and you can make them in 5 minutes!

Eggless French toast ingredients.

Let's talk about the ingredients of this recipe that we will need. There are no fancy ingredients to make it.

Bread:

Bread is the most important ingredient in this recipe. You need a thick loaf of bread to make this recipe so that this bread is soaked in liquid and retains its shape well during cooking. I used rustic white bread from a local bakery. You can also use Chula if you wish!

Milk:

Use whole milk for the best results. Skim milk does not work well in this recipe.

Cornstarch:

Use corn starch to thicken the mixture soaked in the absence of eggs. Corn starch thickens the milk mixture and thus the mixture sticks well to the bread.

Flavoring:

French toast offers a variety of flavors with beetroot / liquid vanilla juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cardamom. I use sugar taste to make it slightly sweeter.

How to Make French toast Without Eggs?

We can easily make a thick mixture with just milk and corn starch and add some spices and vanilla to taste.

Use the right bread:

It is very important to use the right bread in this recipe, as I mentioned earlier. A regular white bread or brown bread will also work in it but after baking, they will not have the same texture so give preference to thick bread. It works best in this recipe.

Flavor with spices:

Cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom, and vanilla are some of the spices needed to season the liquid. These spices and vanilla make the toast delicious.

Use a good amount of butter to fry:

Feel free to use butter when frying toast on the pan. Using about 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of butter per slice (for large thick slices) gives very good results.

Cast iron skillet gives better French toast:

Cooking them on a cast-iron skeleton instead of the usual non-stick skeletons gives it a great flavor and texture.

Step by Step Instructions.

1- In a large bowl, add milk and corn starch and mix.

2- Now add sugar to this milk and corn starch solution. If you like sweet French toast, you can add an extra 1 tablespoon or as per your taste.

3- Then add vanilla extract, cinnamon powder, nutmeg, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt, and stir until all these ingredients are well mixed.

4- Heat the cast iron skeleton on the stove and heat it over medium heat. Put 1 tablespoon of butter on the skeleton and let it melt. Now, take your bread and dip it in the liquid mixture.

Remember to shake the mixture a little before dipping the bread in it (shake the mixture a little before dipping the bread each time because the corn starch freezes at the bottom of the mixture).

5-Dip the bread slice on one side for a few seconds and then turn and dip on the other side so that the bread is well coated.

6-Carefully place the soaked bread in the pan. Cook on one side for 3 to 4 minutes.

7-After cooking on one side, turn it over and fry it on the other side till it turns golden brown on both sides. Repeat for all the other loaves. Remember to clean the skeleton after frying each slice and add more butter for each slice.
