It's one of my favorite foods, so I had to make it myself!
It's very easy to make, takes less than 30 minutes to make, and can be made in
just one pan. We made it in Asian flavor because it is our favorite flavor, but
you can customize it.
What is an egg roll in a bowl?
Egg roll in a bowl, also known as "coleslaw", turns it into an Asian dish cat. We've turned high-carb egg rolls into a low-carb flavored dish, fried in cabbage, minced pork, and sesame oil. This is a very simple recipe that can be prepared in less than 30 minutes.
This recipe
is also one of the best options for those who are preparing food or preparing
food for a crowd. They can be stored well!
Are egg roll wrappers keto?
This low-carb egg roll leaves out the traditional Winton
wrappers which are not low carb. It contains 4-8 grams of carbohydrates per
wrapper. Imagine 3 or 4 meals in a wrapper. By the time you realize this, you
may have exceeded your carbohydrate limit for the day.
Egg roll wrappers are also made from the wheat base. It
gives you lots of Asian flavors and textures in addition to carbohydrates. Rest
assured, you won't miss the wrapper with this keto recipe.
Are there eggs in egg rolls?
The roll does not contain eggs but a wrapper on the egg roll. It was made from batter eggs and cooked in thin crepe-like wrappers. These egg-based wrappers help wrap the cabbage and meat filling. We like to put eggs in a bowl on top of our roll even though it gives extra flavor and a crispy texture.
Tips for making keto egg roll in a bowl.
With different combinations, this recipe provides the
perfect basis for adding whatever protein you desire.
Use Garlic and Ginger.
The use of garlic and ginger gives this dish an Asian
flavor. We always recommend using fresh garlic and fresh ginger, but powdered
versions can also be used.
Coleslaw Mix Works Best.
Most stores sell pre-made Coleslaw Mix, which is great for
this dish. They usually contain a mixture of cabbage and a few other vegetables.
If you don't get it, just take a whole head of cabbage and a couple of carrots
instead.
Gluten-Free AND Soy-Free!?
As you may already know, soy sauce is made from soybeans,
which many people try to avoid. But did you know that soy sauce also contains
gluten?
To make this recipe gluten-free and soy-free, soy sauce should be substituted for coconut aminos. These are made by fermenting the amino coconut flower juice. Coconut amino contains sugar, but the taste is so strong that you only need to add a few tablespoons.
If you like traditional soy sauce flavors, come and get some gluten-free soy sauce to avoid the wheat.
Add Some Spices.
Egg roll in a bowl is about the difference between some
spices and dessert. You can use hot sauce or spice of your choice to add spice
to this recipe. Our favorite spices are:
Sriracha.
An Asian classic that gives this dish a real flavor. Be sure to cut fresh jalapeños with gloves or wash your hands afterward. Jalapeños are so spicy that if you don't wash your hands after cutting them, they will burn your eyes.
Chili garlic sauce.
This thing is spicy! A little chili sauce adds flavor to a low-carb
egg roll.
SWEET.
This sweet coconut juice is full of the sweetness and spicy
you want. A few drops of liquid stevia help to sweeten the dish for good
balance.
Use a Hot Skillet.
Heat is needed to get some browning on the meat, otherwise,
the texture of the dish will not be very good. Adding vegetables makes it
harder to color the meat, so cook the meat to your liking before adding
vegetables.
Use Meat with a High-Fat Content.
If you are eating lean meats such as ground turkey, use
extra fat. Vegetables give the beauty of soaking cross recipe to all fats. If
you use ground turkey or ground chicken, you can add one or two tablespoons of
extra fat.
Sesame Oil Makes a Difference.
The only ingredient in this recipe that you should not miss
is sesame oil. This is the oil you add at the end that makes the dish thicker.
It gives an unmistakable taste. Sesame seeds also provide a beautiful crunch
and texture in the finished product.
Filling up Egg Roll in a Bowl.
You want to make your recipe quite traditional with coleslaw
mix, meat, and sesame oil. Egg roll in a bowl can be cust.
Chopped bell peppers - The size of the bell peppers you
offer for carbohydrates should be small, but the next time you make an egg
roll, add a handful of chopped bell peppers to the mix.
Carrots - This does not apply when using Coleslaw Mix, if
you have been working from the beginning, add some carrots to it. We like
crushed carrots in it,
Onions - The use of finely chopped onions adds an excellent
caramelized sweetness to the recipe. This will add carbohydrates to your
nutritional facts for keto,
Garnishing Egg Roll in a Bowl.
Garnish makes a huge difference in the final product of this
prescription. They will add extra texture and freshness. Some people like green
onions for their bright fresh taste. Your toppings are up to you, but you can
use one of our favorites:
Sesame oil - Sesame oil provides an authentic flavor.
Green Onions - Green onions are a great way to get a little
extra flavor without too many carbohydrates. Green onions are lower in pure
carbohydrates than red onions.
Eggs - I know that eggs play an important role in a bowl,
but garnishing your bowl with fried eggs adds another layer of flavor.

Use Cabbage - Both green and purple cabbage taste great! Beef, turkey, or pork
works great in all recipes. You can use regular gluten-free soy sauce or tamari
instead of paleo, or keto. Serve with more vegetables. Chinese broccoli,
zucchini, and squash will also work well here.

You can keep it in the fridge for 3-5 days. Flavor changes
over time! This is the best way to reheat this recipe. Reheat leftover food in

microwave, but the texture will be swollen. I do not recommend freezing it.
